The S12VSI-4 is an Ionisation designed for use with a 12 volt alarm system.
This detector uses a dual ionisation chamber to detect smoke at the very early stages of combustion.
The dual chamber makes this detector very stable in operation yet provides a rapid response to smoke. Ionisation detectors are designed to detect particles of smoke but can also detect cooking fumes and would therefore not normally be used close to a cooking environment.
THIS DETECTOR HAS A BUILT IN OPERATING DELAY OF SEVERAL SECONDS TO REDUCE THE EFFECT OF UNWANTED ALARMS. WHEN TESTING, THE PUSH BUTTON SHOULD BE HELD IN UNTILL THE DETECTOR OPERATES (TYPICALLY WITHIN TEN SECONDS). WHEN TESTING WITH SMOKE, THE SMOKE MUST BE PRESENT AT THE DETECTOR FOR SEVERAL SECONDS
